Meet My Culture
Student-led education about Roma history and culture, to reduce stereotypes in Albanian schools.
The problem
Stereotype is maintained by absence of contact and absence of information. Most Albanian students never learn anything about Roma history or culture at school.
Objectives
- Educate and inform about 1% of Albanian society about Roma history and culture
- Reduce negative stereotypes and strengthen tolerance between Roma, Egyptian and other young people
Results
Seven RVA students delivered the programme across Tirana, Durrës, Berat and Shkodër, reaching 1,000 students in 23 schools.
