About the Project

The Internship Scheme was supported by the UNDP/EU initiative “Economic and Social Empowerment for Roma and Egyptians – a booster for social inclusion” (ESERE). The project focused on improving access to the labour market for young graduates from Roma and Egyptian communities, helping bridge the gap between education and employment.

Its primary goal was to support the employment of Roma and Egyptian university graduates in both public institutions and private sector companies in Tirana, Durrës, Shkodër, and Berat.

Participants and Beneficiaries

A total of 36 Roma and Egyptian students and graduates benefited directly from the programme. They were selected to take part in structured professional internships designed to strengthen their skills, employability, and work experience.

Implementation and Institutional Support

The project was implemented in close cooperation with several national and local institutions, including the Ministry of Social Welfare and Youth, the National Employment Service, the Municipality of Berat, the Municipality of Durrës, and other relevant administrative bodies.

Participants were placed in a variety of working environments, including government agencies, private companies, and civil society organizations, where they engaged in one-year professional internships.

Impact

The Internship Scheme provided participants with practical work experience and strengthened their professional competencies, contributing to improved employment prospects and greater social inclusion for Roma and Egyptian communities in Albania.

Internship Scheme u mbështet nga iniciativa e UNDP/BE “Economic and Social Empowerment for Roma and Egyptians – a booster for social inclusion” (ESERE). Projekti u fokusua në përmirësimin e aksesit në tregun e punës për të rinjtë e diplomuar nga komunitetet rom dhe egjiptian, duke ndihmuar në lidhjen mes arsimit dhe punësimit.

Qëllimi kryesor ishte mbështetja e punësimit të të diplomuarve romë dhe egjiptianë në institucione publike dhe kompani private në Tiranë, Durrës, Shkodër dhe Berat.

Pjesëmarrësit dhe përfituesit

Në total, 36 studentë dhe të diplomuar romë dhe egjiptianë përfituan drejtpërdrejt nga programi. Ata u përzgjodhën për të marrë pjesë në praktika profesionale të strukturuara, të cilat synonin forcimin e aftësive dhe përmirësimin e punësueshmërisë.

Zbatimi dhe mbështetja institucionale

Projekti u zbatua në bashkëpunim të ngushtë me disa institucione kombëtare dhe vendore, përfshirë Ministrinë e Mirëqenies Sociale dhe Rinisë, Shërbimin Kombëtar të Punësimit, Bashkinë e Beratit, Bashkinë e Durrësit dhe institucione të tjera përkatëse.

Pjesëmarrësit u vendosën në mjedise të ndryshme pune, duke përfshirë agjenci qeveritare, kompani private dhe organizata të shoqërisë civile, ku kryen praktika profesionale njëvjeçare.

Ndikimi

Internship Scheme u ofroi pjesëmarrësve përvojë praktike pune dhe forcoi aftësitë e tyre profesionale, duke kontribuar në përmirësimin e perspektivave të punësimit dhe rritjen e përfshirjes sociale të komuniteteve rome dhe egjiptiane në Shqipëri.
