CALL FOR LECTURERS IS OPEN
who will help the Roma Academy high school students as well as students benefiting from the SEC and TER-ALB-01 programmes for the academic year 2023-2024 in the online teaching of the Roma Academy format, divided into:
- Romani language: 25 hours
- Identity: 10 hours
- History: 10 hours

Background
The project EU Regional Action on Roma Education: Increasing Educational Support and Opportunities for Roma Students in the Western Balkans and Turkey (RARE), phase II, constitutes a second phase of the project already implemented during 2018–2021 by REF.
During the first phase of the project, educational services provided through seven project countries (Albania – ALB; Bosnia and Herzegovina – BIH; Kosovo – KOS; Montenegro – MNE; North Macedonia – MAC; Serbia – SER; Turkey – TUR ) managed to involve more than 4,500 Roma children and youth (from all educational levels) in educational activities. The current project continues the benefits and results of the initial project, while creating a well-founded basis for the inclusion and participation of children and young people in education.
Objective
To support the graduation of Roma high school students and students and to increase their employment potential in the labour market. These activities will be implemented through mentoring, tutoring, and other professional development services such as internships, tailored training for professional development, computer courses, foreign language skills, etc. The activities will serve to increase the employment potential of young Roma in the labour market.
By means of this module, the lecturer(s) prepare a programme for each module, according to the division of the respective hours, in order to give the pupils and students the basic knowledge of the Roma language, a historical summary from their journey until today, as well as a summary of the elements of Roma identity definition, starting with the Roma tribes in Albania and beyond.
Conditions for application
- To be graduates or certified by relevant institutions in scientific or professional masters;
- Have at least some experience teaching these modules.
- Have knowledge of the Zoom or Teams platforms, as the mentoring will be conducted online through these platforms;
- Being from the Roma or Egyptian community is an added value to the application.
