Call for Financial Support: ALB070-C19

CALL FOR FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR ROMA STUDENTS THROUGH THE EMERGENCY FUND

In response to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic situation that the whole world is facing, the Roma Education Fund has set up an emergency fund in support of Roma pupils and students as well as their families. Project C19-ALB070 is being implemented in Albania by the organisation Roma Versitas Albania with the support of six (6) civil society organisations, such as: Plan & Go, Disutni-Albania, Ushten, Rromano Kham, Institute of Roma Culture in Albania and Voice of Roma in Albania .
The project aims to help Roma pupils and students through electronic and internet support to access additional online lectures as well as additional lessons for children from preschool to 9th grade.

Through this call, Roma Versitas Albania opens the call for students who are studying away from their hometown and who are paying for a dormitory, house or rented room to be near the university, and to be more productive in the final exams year. At the same time for those students who have lost their part-time job during the quarantine period and onwards.

At the READ closing conference organized by The GOETHE Institute and regional partners. Roma Versitas Albania was awarded twice with cultural and literature/translation projects. The impact of the READ project was multifold. We translated two graphic novels in Romani language, Turkish and Macedonian, exchanged experiences with other NGOs in the region altogether we share same values and appreciate diversity and acceptance, we networked and lastly, we are hopeful to continue our contribution in these themes. Much appreciated to the organizers for hosting us.
