Roma Versitas Albania launches the call for participants in a 4-day training on Human Rights Education for Young People from 21 to 24 June 2024

The Youth Programme on Human Rights Education by the Council of Europe promotes the inclusion of the Human Rights Dimension in youth work and policies.
Roma Versitas Albania is one of the organizations supported to multiply education on human rights to young people through training materials prepared by International Institutions such as the Council of Europe.
Training on human rights education is an important tool of the Council of Europe and its endeavours to promote the principle values of human rights and democracy as well as it represents a magnificent opportunity to engage youngsters in various frontiers such as increasing commitment towards social objectives, development of competences to promote a resilient and democratic society based on rule of law, social justices and overall human rights and democratic culture.

Human Rights and Their Development
Historical moments such as the Magna Carta, the Age of Enlightenment and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights have shaped their development, reflecting changing social values and legal frameworks for the protection of human dignity and freedom
Discrimination, Intolerance, Language and Hate Crimes
Discrimination, intolerance, hate speech and hate crimes lead to human rights violations, while the commemoration aims to raise awareness and ensure that these unpleasant events do not happen again. The Roma minority has suffered major human rights violations throughout history, so it is essential to educate multipliers to oppose these violations.
Democracy, Active Citizenship and Participation
Democracy, which means “people power”, is closely related to human rights and works best through empowered citizens who participate equally and are aware of the tools that illuminate the legal and political framework.
International Human Rights Instruments
International instruments such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the European Convention on Human Rights protect and guarantee human rights. These documents provide common standards and mechanisms for the protection of dignity and fundamental freedoms for all individuals.

The criteria for successful applications in the training programme.
- At least 18 years old.
- Basic knowledge of human rights.
- Commitment and willingness to replicate the training programme activities.
- Readiness to work in teams.
- Readiness to participate throughout the entire period of the training programme.
- Girls/women applicants have priority.
- Also, priority is given to social workers, youth workers and practitioners of human rights.
